The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. FILOPAPPOU HILL

Also called the Hill of the Muses, Filopappou Hill - along with the Hills of the Pnyx and the Nymphs - was, according to Plutarch, where Theseus and the Amazons did battle. Inhabited from prehistoric times to the post-Byzantine era, today the pine-clad slopes are a relaxing place for a stroll. They offer excellent views of Attica and the Saronic Gulf, well-signed ruins and some of the very best vantage points for photographing the Acropolis.

THISEIO - Location

Thiseio is popular for early afternoon or evening strolls with views of the illuminated Acropolis. It includes the pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou street that rings the Acropolis. The National Observatory, a scientific institute for the study of astronomy and seismology has vintage telescopes on display and offers tours, while the Herakleidon museum hosts art and science exhibitions.

PLAKA - Location

In the shadow of the Acropolis and its ancient temples, hillside Plaka has a village feel, with narrow cobblestone streets lined with tiny shops selling jewelry, clothes and local ceramics. Sidewalk cafes and family-run tavernas stay open until late, and Cine Paris shows classic movies al fresco. Do not miss, one of the most idyllic neighborhoods in Plaka, Anafiotika. The picturesque whitewashed houses and narrow alleys are reminiscent of a Cyclade island village, called Anafi.

Probably established in the late 6th century, the theater has been reconstructed many times since then.

Nous avons adoré l hôtel. Le personnel adorable, la chambre impeccable, roof top génial, restaurant très bon, petit dej super, l emplacement à côté du métro (certes il y a une rue pas bien fréquentable pas loin mais séjour avec mes 2 filles de 13 et 18 ans et aucun pb). Si nous devions revenir à Athènes nous reviendrons au Stanley sans aucune hésitation !... ++

Everyone was exceptionally kind and helpful! Starting upon our check in till our check out! A tad outside Plaka area, however enjoyed the 20 minute walk everytime! If you are not fond of walking SUBWAY is 2 steps out of the hotel!We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Would definitely book again. A special thank you to Cleopatra at the bar /restaurant & pool area was a gem! An asset to this hotel!... ++

Le roof Top, exceptionnel...avec une piscine. C'est d'ailleurs le plus grand roof top d'Athenes. Prendre le petit déjeuner en haut c'est fabuleux, pour commencer la journée en dominant tout Athenes. En fin d'apres midi, apres avoir effectuer quelques visites, profiter de la piscine, boire un verre en attendant le coucher de soleil, musique d'ambiance. Top...Le restaurant sert jusqu'à minuit, super pratique lorsqu'on arrive tard sur athenes en avion...Les plats sont tous excellents( mention spéciale pour la moussaka et les sushis, makis "maison"... ++
